An afternoon with Bethel Baptist Church

"You are not a stranger here" is written on the sign as you pull into Bethel Baptist Church in Ellerbe, North Carolina! It was true, we did not meet a stranger! This Sunday, we appreciated the time we spent with the congregation while sharing The Angaza Project. One of our Board Directors & Sponsorship Advisors, Kylee Henneman, shared her previous missions work in Nicaragua, her personal library project in Kibera, Kenya and her work with The Angaza Project. We look forward to coming back to share updates later on in 2019! Thank you so much for inviting us!

This is more than being a teacher.....

Visiting the High Schools in Kenya is something we really look forward to when we are in Kenya! It gives us a chance to deepen our relationships in the community, build with the Principal/Director of the school, and learn about the challenges the Teachers and Administrators face. Recently, we met with Principal Bernard at a community school in Kibera where he serves 185 students, although every term they are growing with enrollment. High School is not free in Kenya so this is a challenge for families in Kibera and it leaves many outside of the classroom, especially the girl child. If you want to touch the present, touch a flower. If you want to touch the future, touch a life.” – Author Unknown The Angaza Project appreciates our volunteers everyday! When we think about the time and energy that our volunteers give to the organization and women served around the world, those quotes come to mind for us. What we have been able to do t

Ladies Christmas Tea with Faith Alliance in Goldsboro, NC

We appreciated spending time with the ladies of Faith Alliance Church in Goldsboro, North Carolina! On December 1st, we enjoyed sharing the work of the organization in Kenya and Mexico along with the plans that are underway at this time. After sharing the organization the ladies learned how to make the paper beaded jewelry the women make in Kenya with our Founder, Jennifer Wiley and Treasurer, Xiomara Laureano. We had a great time in fellowship with these ladies and appreciate the continued prayers for the ground work and women and girls served around the world!
