Thankful for our Volunteers! Volunteer Spotlight!

There are so many beautiful quotes about volunteers!

Some of our favorites include the following:

"Volunteers don't necessarily have the time, they just have the heart" – Elizabeth Andrew

"Volunteers don't get paid, not because they're worthless, but because they are priceless," – Sherry Anderson

" If you want to touch the past, touch a rock. If you want to touch the present, touch a flower. If you want to touch the future, touch a life.” – Author Unknown

The Angaza Project appreciates our volunteers everyday! When we think about the time and energy that our volunteers give to the organization and women served around the world, those quotes come to mind for us. What we have been able to do thus far and where we are headed is because of the hard work and time of our volunteers!

Kayle Barbur of Monroe, North Carolina is one of our volunteers! She spends countless hours supporting our community events whether it be setting up the event, breaking it down, and making some of the best chicken salad snacks to serve to our guests! (Sometimes I think they come just for her chicken salad so make sure you come to our next event to try some!) She is a master crafter on a variety of crafts and often makes our raffle items! Kayle has a heart for women's empowerment issues around the world and we appreciate all of her support and networking she does for us in the greater Charlotte, NC area!

Bayleigh Henneman is another one of our volunteers in the greater Charlotte area! She helps make sure our events in the community go smoothly with setting it up, greeting friends, and sharing us in the community. Events are hard work and her sense of humor keeps us all going! She has a personality that lights up the room! Bayleigh is also one of our Shining Scholar Sponsors for a young girl in High School in Kibera, Kenya.

Janelle MacBain is one of our volunteers all the way in Calgary, Alberta, Canada! She has worked with some of our Board Directors on the ground in Kenya over the years in Kibera. She is currently helping to spread awareness of The Angaza Project and fundraise|collect items of need for our programs! Janelle is planning to return to Kenya in the future which will be exciting for our Girls Empowerment and Women's Skill Building classes!

We thank these wonderful volunteers that work hard with us to improve economic and education opportunities for women around the world!

We have many more volunteers that participate with us from around the world! We have volunteers in the USA, Canada, Kenya, Mexico, and even Peru! We look forward to sharing another Volunteer Spotlight with you in the near future! Want to get involved with us? Visit our website on the "Get Involved" section or you may email us at
