Meet another Board Director, Juan Montufar Vizzuett

Juan lives in Actopan, Mexico with his wife and children. He and his wife, Rosario, have been working with the women (and men) at the Refuge (Refugio) in Progresso. It is a safe place for women to come as a shelter from gender based violence, receive support and help with substance abuse, have access to Bible studies, and learn new life skills before reintegrating into a community. Juan has once worked in law enforcement and his wife is a small business owner that models the way for becoming a small business owner for other women in the community. Juan also serves as a translator for English and Spanish when needed in church or at the Refuge.

On a weekly basis, Juan visits the Refugio with his wife to spend time with the women and support the empowerment classes. He keeps the board of directors up to date on the number of women there, the weekly topics covered and the needs of the Refugio. Juan and his wife Rosario lead the way in Mexico on a weekly basis for The Angaza Project.
