New space in Kibera, Kenya!

We are so excited to share that we have a space of our own in Kibera, Kenya! We are home! We have been growing over the last year so much that additional space was needed to host activities. This additional operational space will allow us to expand our weekly girls empowerment workshop to serve even more girls, give us the additional class space for sewing and beading for adult women and give us space to host our adult women's empowerment by Teacher Fay Sejo!

When we look back over the last year, we are so thankful for all of the support we received from the Kibera community and the friends of the organization as we grew. We started Girls Empowerment with 15 girls who registered with their parent and now we have 30! Every Saturday they show up, rain or shine! Our skills classes are growing just as quickly and we look forward to seeing the adult women's empowerment expand even more! Our friends in the community found this space for us that was safe and secure for all of our equipment and "stuff" to serve our programs, not to mention our neighbor is George, a long time friend of our Founder. The place has a good eye watching over it at all times!

We kicked off its opening with some volunteers from Cairo, Egypt and Nevada, USA along with our Founder Jennifer Wiley and Vice President Joe Gichuki. We spent two days painting together and of course the only one who did not get any paint on themselves was Joe! As a professional painter in his early years, his experience paid off for the straight lines on the trim!

We look forward to continued growth together!
